Winnie has had a long tough road, coming to APA! with a prolapsed uterus and a hurt leg that she recently had surgery on. Even with all the pain, Winnie's tail still wags in happiness when she sees people. Her deep brown eyes yearn to be close with you and be friends with you. And, when at first you may be taken aback by her stocky solid body, you will soon learn that she is gentle and soft at heart. She loves to give you giant kisses on your chin and will let you rub her belly for hours if you're willing.
Winnie's energy level is fairly low; she is generally calm. She enjoys taking walks and being outside but does not need to run all day. She will lie next to you for hours and loves taking car rides, always ready for your next adventure. Sometimes Winnie will stare at the TV trying to understand what the noises are, her head tilted to the side and floppy ears perked and listening.
This lady has had a tough month but is ready to love anyone who will let her. Will you look into her soft eyes and tell this sweet girl that she has a home and love until she finds her forever home? Or will you even be the lucky person to scoop her up for forever?
Winnie is currently taking it slow and easy while she recovers from her surgery. We are seeking a foster for her to see out the rest of her recovery starting next week. When she is ready to move to a new foster her stitches will already be removed so no cone will be needed. Winnie will also only require short, slow, leashed walks 3 times a day. She is a lover and would really love to chill with you.
Winnie has a heart of gold for all humans, all ages. She LOVES kids. Winnie is picky with other four legged creatures so a pet-free household would be ideal while she heals, or we can do meet and greets with potential new friends.
You will not forget the love she showers upon you! Please let us know if you can help Winnie! E-mail [email protected] to find out about fostering Winnie or [email protected] if you want to adopt the most chill, sweet dog you'll ever meet!
