Chuychanga is one heck of a cat despite having been through some bad trauma! Chuychanga was an indoor/outdoor cat that was thought to have been in a bad scuffle with another cat. Poor kitty had multiple lacerations and deep punctures throughout the body and face. Sadly Chuychanga was surrendered to Austin Pets Alive.
Turns out poor Chuychanga also has a broken pelvis and an out of socket hip! As you can see in the photo Chuy cannot bear any weight on the right leg and struggles to get up and move around. Chuychanga needs hip surgery, an FHO procedure, to repair the hip. Her pelvis will heal on it’s own over about a 6 week period.
Cat lovers know and understand how difficult a transition like this can be and the staff are trying to make this scary transition as easy as possible for Chuy.
