Cucumber's Heart Defect - GOAL REACHED!

OUR GOAL

$5,000

6/10 update: GOAL REACHED!

Cucumber is a pup with a crooked smile and a heart condition that will lead to heart failure if not corrected. He suffers from a heart defect called patent ductus arteriosus, or PDA, that makes it hard for him to breathe and prevents him from playing with his foster sister as much as he’d like. Cucumber needs to see a cardiologist soon if he’s going to have a chance at a long, healthy life.

Cucumber is only one year old, but his heart condition is holding him back from being his playful, goofy self. There is an opening between two major arteries leading away from Cucumber’s heart that prevents proper blood flow. A heart defect like Cucumber’s causes breathing problems, a loud heart murmur, and an inability to exercise without getting exhausted. If the heart condition isn’t corrected soon, Cucumber could suffer heart failure.

There is a good prognosis for Cucumber IF he gets the surgery he needs SOON. Contributing to Cucumber’s $5,000 chip-in will allow him to see a specialist and receive the operation he needs to breathe freely and get back to playing with his foster sister. Can you be a lifeline for Cucumber today?

*At times a chip-in fund will raise more than a pet needs. When this happens, rest assured that excess gifts will be used to help another pet in need of your assistance! Thank you for helping us help pets!
