Diezel needs ALL our help! Diezel is a 2 Yr Old Terrier Pit Bull that came to Austin Pets Alive! via Austin Animal Center where he was surrendered by
his owners. Sadly he was surrendered, after being raised from a puppy, because there no longer was time to care for him. Among Diezel’s best qualities is his love of children! The previous owners listed this as Diezel’s best quality!
Diezel arrived at APA! on April 6th and was immediately diagnosed with a 4/6 heart murmur. He was placed on a waiting list for an ultrasound. That has now been completed and Diezel has been diagnosed with pulmonic stenosis.
Pulmonic Stenosis is a congenital defect that causes an obstructed flow of blood from the right ventricle of the heart to the pulmonary artery. This causes exercise intolerance,
can cause very labored breathing, and a decreased life span if not corrected or treated with medications.
Diezel has suffered from this for two years but now he has a chance to possibly have this repaired or treated and live normally.
