Mustard was having some trouble in her home. She came to us from Austin Animal Center as a medical case after being surrendered. Her reaction to these troubles was to stop eating. Because of this, she now has liver disease, as you can see from her yellow eyes. The disease begins when the cat stops eating from a loss of appetite, forcing the liver to convert body fat into usable energy. We've placed a feeding tube in her hoping that helps her regain some strength. Expected recovery time is typically between 6-12 weeks after Mustard starts eating again on her own. During this time we'll keep her as comfortable as possible with daily care and attention. If you can help us help Mustard heal from her liver disease, please give to her medical fund today!
