On January 7th Austin Pets Alive was able to rescue Princess from another shelter where she was going to be euthanized due to terrible injuries she suffered after being hit by car. Princess’s injuries were so bad we had an orthopedic surgeon evaluate her right away and her prognosis was not good. Her pelvis was broken in multiple places, one of her femurs was broken, and her skin was punctured and had terrible abrasions. Best case scenario she would need multiple surgeries and hopefully be able to have full function of her hips and legs. It has now been 1 1/2 months and Princess has made a full recovery! She underwent two surgeries total, one to address the skin injuries and one to fix the broken femur. If you hadn’t known Princess had lived through being hit by a car you couldn’t guess it! She is happy, healthy, and ready for adoption! She has a small limp but a HUGE personality!
