Schmidt's Jaw Surgery - GOAL REACHED!

OUR GOAL

$1520

8/27 update: GOAL REACHED!

Schmidt came to us from Laredo Animal Services needing specialized medical attention. At just six months old, Schmidt’s jaw has been fused shut. The team at Laredo believes he had a previously broken jaw that never healed properly, leaving him only able to open his mouth 1 cm wide.

Right now Schmidt is hanging out in a fabulous foster home. There he still tries to chew toys and sticks, with more difficulty than any puppy should ever face. He also needs help eating and drinking. We’re hoping his surgery will make life a lot smoother for Schmidt.

We need to perform a rostral mandibulectomy to remove the tip of his lower mandible before his canines, allowing our sweet pup to pant and eat more easily. This specialized surgery will cost $1520 to perform. Can you chip-in to help pets like Schmidt get the care that they need?

*At times a chip-in fund will raise more than a pet needs. When this happens, rest assured that excess gifts will be used to help another pet in need of your assistance! Thank you for helping us help pets!
