You might remember Schone from our previous posts. When sweet Schone first came to Austin Pets Alive! with serious skin issues and hair loss, our amazing APA! community was able to help Schone get tested for Cushing’s Disease. When those test results came back negative for Cushing’s Disease, our incredible community helped us get a skin biopsy for Schone, which helped our APA! Clinic team rule out several potential causes for her skin issues. Unfortunately, with those potential causes ruled out it means that cancer might be the possible cause. We now need the help of the APA! community, again, to get Schone some blood work so our clinic team can determine the cause of the calcium deposits on her skin. We are hopeful that once this blood work is done we will have a better understanding of what is causing these issues for Schone, and we will be able to get her on the road to recovery!
