5/23 update: GOAL REACHED!

Meet West! This sweet boy was picked up as a stray with severe hair loss, a right leg injury, and positive for heartworms. The Humane Society of Harlingen reached out to APA! requesting medical help for the adorable three year old pup. West isn’t able to bear weight on his right leg and needs to have orthopedic FHO repair surgery.

West has since finished his heartworm treatment and bed rest in his loving foster home. He has some residual lung and cough issues that are currently being resolved, but that doesn’t stop him from rolling in the grass and trying to play with his dog brother. Due to his injury though, West isn’t able to run with both of his hind legs and mainly uses his healthy left leg.

West needs his FHO surgery that costs $1,270 and will allow West to run and play to his heart’s content. Can you help West receive his ortho surgery?
