10/4 update: No longer surgical!
Do y’all remember Yookidoo? This sweet boy came to us back in April after being hit by a car when he needed intense hospitalization. Not only did the impact of the car injure his hips and legs, but a good Samaritan who found him unknowingly gave him a toxic dose of Ibuprofen.
While we cleared the toxic medication from Yookidoo’s system in the spring, we are now looking to treat his hip injuries. Yookidoo needs a right FHO surgery for his chronically painful stiff hip. This is the first of potentially two surgeries. The second surgery would be a right MPL to treat kneecap dislocation 12 weeks following his FHO surgery, if needed. Our vets will determine if the second surgery is needed after the FHO surgery. Right now, we’re fundraising for just the FHO surgery until we know more.
Yookidoo doesn’t use his back right leg when walking around the house, needs to be carried up and down the stairs, lifted on and off the couch, and has to avoid rough play and jumping. Your gift towards our $1270 goal will help relieve Yookidoo of this chronic hip pain and get him one step closer to puppy playtime. Can you chip-in for pets like Yookidoo?
*At times a chip-in fund will raise more than a pet needs. When this happens, rest assured that excess gifts will be used to help another pet in need of your assistance! Thank you for helping us help pets!
