Austin Pets Alive!’s annual No Kill Anniversary Party can’t happen this year like Austinites are used to, and COVID-19 is causing pet owners to fall on hard times, putting animals at risk. Because of that, in place of the party, Austin Pets Alive! is holding a drive-thru pet food bank on September 19 to help this community of pet owners most impacted by the pandemic.
Pet owners in need can pick up a free bag of cat or dog food, donated by Merrick Pet Care, starting at 10am on 9/19 at Austin High, located at 1715 W Cesar Chavez. All food is first come, first serve; and APA! representatives will be at Austin High distributing food until 4pm or until the food runs out.
Nearly 4,400lbs of pet food will be available on September 19 for those in need. If you or someone you know is in need, please come by. If you would like to help in some way, APA! is trying to raise $10 for every pound of food distributed at the food bank. Those who are able can donate here.
