Level 1 Nursery Volunteer: Cleaning | This is your first step to getting started volunteering at the Neonatal Nursery. Learn our strict procedures for cleaning and disinfecting that are essential in caring for our kittens. Our Level 1 volunteers are vital to keeping our Nursery functioning, as they ensure the sanitation of the nursery and all equipment and supplies. |
| Level 2 Nursery Volunteer: Feeder | Level 2 volunteers feed and provide basic care on site for our youngest kittens, pregnant cats, and nursing cats with their litters until they can be moved to a foster home or to an adoption site. Prerequisite: Level 1. |
| Neonatal Foster Finder | Help place Neonatal Program cats and kittens in foster homes! This on-site role involves advertising kittens looking for a foster home, matching kittens with fosters, and helping onboard new neonatal fosters. |
| Neonatal Medical Support Volunteer | Help our Neonatal Medical Team with intake and wellness exams, fill and administer medications, feed kittens on site, and more. You'll receive hands-on training on the medical side of kitten care. You will be expected to learn to give injections and be present during blood draws. |
| Foster Plea Writer | Help us get the word out about Neonatal Program cats and kittens that need a foster home. Our plea writers put together and send our evening foster pleas in MailChimp. Bonus: You get to see cute pics of all the kittens looking for foster! |
| Neonatal Data Entry | Help us with medical data or placement data entry (depending on current needs). Knowledge of Google Sheets (or Excel) is required and knowledge of, or at least some exposure to, ShelterLuv is highly desirable. |
| Kitty Catpool Volunteer | Help transport cats and kittens from shelters around the state or local shelters to the nursery or between APA! locations. We also occasionally need help transporting medications or supplies to fosters or getting foster kitites to and from appointments. |
