Macy is a sweet but shy young adult who will thrive in the right home. She's currently living with an APA foster family and is showing us that she has the goods to make a loving addition to your family with patience and time.
Macy is sharing her current home with two other dogs, 9 years old and 1 year old. She loves to cuddle with both of them, and she takes her cues from their behavior. Her housemates continue to help learn the routines of the home. She loves to play as much as possible with the younger dog. Macy particularly enjoys lounging on her own dog bed in the office so she can be close to her foster mom.
Macy does not live with children and has not experienced being around kids younger than 10 years old. She can be timid when meeting new faces, but once she warms up with repetition and time, she can't hide her happy, playful nature.
Macy is curious about cats and will chase them, but does not shown any aggression towards them. She roams free in her foster home and has done very well for short times alone with her housemates. She likes to chew on dog toys and paper, but she doesn't seem interested in chewing on anything else.
In short, she's been a great house guest for her foster and should be playful and cuddly new member of your household once she adapts! Macy has a gentle, sweet nature that you'll love. She hasn't done a lot of leash walking or learned basic commands yet. Her foster family is working on those skills with her, and you can pick up the practice when she joins your family! She'll love to be close by her favorite people - when she's not outside with a playmate.
Macy's ideal home would include another playful dog about her age who also likes to cuddle with her - she needs a buddy to bond with who can help her gain confidence. She'll want a family who can give her plenty of love and exercise.
This dog is going to become a fantastic long-term companion for a lucky family, we hope it's yours! And don't forget, when you adopt you won't only be helping Macy - you'll be helping another dog join our program!
