Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities are constantly changing as we grow and develop new programs; but what doesn't change is your impact.

APA! Thrift

APA! Thrift stores are boutique-style, selling high quality new and gently used items for very low prices. All net proceeds directly support the innovative life-saving programs of Austin Pets Alive!. Our two thrift locations are located at 5801 Burnet Road and 1409 West Oltorf Street. They’re both open from 10am-6pm, Sunday through Wednesday and from 10am-8pm, Thursday through Saturday. We utilize volunteers in every aspect of store operations, this helps to keep our overhead low and means that more money goes to the animals. Currently, we’re seeking volunteers to help with sorting clothes and other donations, ringing up customers and organizing the store, and helping us get the word out about APA! Thrift through our volunteer marketing team.

American Pets Alive!

American Pets Alive! (AmPA!) is our annual national conference where individuals and shelters can come and learn from Austin’s no-kill leaders how to implement innovative, lifesaving programs in their communities or shelters.
