We have critical needs at our Town Lake Animal Center that we urgently need to fix before it gets cold again this winter. In the last few years, we’ve faced extreme challenges when winter storms have blown into Austin. We need to prepare now to be able to keep our the pets in our care safe when temperatures drop dangerously low, in a shelter that was not built to hold animals during very cold winters — and we need to be ready to safely take in pets from other Texas shelters, where they will be killed if we cannot open our doors.
