Aphrodite came into our care back in August from Atascosa County Animal Control. Since then, she's developed some changes in her hips that make it very painful to use her back legs. She needs an FHO which is an orthopedic surgery to remove the head and neck of the femur which will make it more comfortable for her to walk. Our Medical Triage and Wellness Clinic is also going to conduct histopathology, which is the examination of samples of whole tissues and is performed on a solid piece of tissue that has been collected surgically, so we can figure out what's causing these changes in her hips. Please help us raise the funds needed for her orthopedic surgery so we can relieve this sweet three-year-old of her pain and understand better what's causing it.
