Poor Cane needs a cane to walk! Cane is a 6yr old Pit Terrier mix that has a luxated patella, meaning his knee cap won’t stay in place. Unfortunately this is a very fairly common congenital issue that happens to these pitty breeds and we’ve seen this before in several dogs just like Cane.
One thing we do know is Cane is in pain. Living on the hard concrete of the shelter increases the pain and getting him into a home is ideal. Austin Pets Alive is asking for foster for Cane in addition to assistance funding his surgery.
Cane does best in a home with no other dogs. He doesn’t always mind other dogs but he is a happy guy and sometimes other dogs may find him a little too eager.
