APA! provides a safe harbor for cats who are severely at risk of euthanasia elsewhere — including those with treatable conditions like FeLV and ringworm; cats with FIV who, with treatment, live happy, healthy, long lives; and incontinent cats, who make wonderful pets, when provided some care and understanding. In addition to taking in, treating, and adopting out some 1,600 of the cats who would likely otherwise lose their lives every year, APA! is teaching other shelters how to care for and find homes for these loving companions — helping build lifesaving capacity for cats even well beyond our walls.
