Jog-a-dog at Town Lake Animal Center

by austinpetsalive • Posted in: Awareness/ PR

On Saturday, we’ll be kicking off Team Spiridon‘s Jog-a-dog program at the Town Lake Animal Center location.

Runners, walkers, and even cyclists are invited to come and learn how they can help exercise and provide enrichment by taking our dogs out for walks and runs on the Lady Bird Trail.

At noon, Team Spiridon will be giving a short training for people who want to take dogs for walks and runs around the trail.

At 1pm, Firecracker Dog will be giving a short training for people who want to take the dogs for runs using the trike they have donated to us.

We’ll be having weekly training sessions after this to get new volunteers started.

Once trained, volunteers can take dogs out on the trail every day of the week from noon-7.  We hope to expand those hours to morning hours soon.

(If you saw us talking about the event on KEYE and are wondering about the incredible dog who was with us, that was Jenn.)

I’d like to volunteer for the Jog-A-Dog program and take one of the classes this week. Can you please let me know when the next training class will be?
    Thanks!
