Austin Pets Alive! Launches Trial Adoptions For Dogs At Town Lake Animal Center

January 12, 2016 (Austin, TX) – Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) is excited to announce the launch of a new program which they hope will entice more Austin families to adopt their next dog from APA!’s Town Lake Animal Center (TLAC) location. The trial adoption program will allow approved adopters to take home a dog with the option of a full refund if the dog is returned within the first seven days.

7DayTrialAdoptionsAPAThese new trial adoptions will process in accordance with APA!’s normal adoption procedures with approved adopters only. APA! will now offer a refund clause to those approved adopters. The trial adoptions and refunds are only available for dogs older than six months of age presently living at Austin Pets Alive!’s Town Lake Animal Center location.

“Because Austin is a No Kill city, we see adult dogs and cats who live at our shelter for a long time before adoption,” stated Ellen Jefferson, the Executive Director from Austin Pets Alive!. “They are wonderful pets but because they are adults, we find that often people aren’t sure if they will be a good fit. By offering Trial Adoptions for our adult dogs, we hope to give an adopter the opportunity to see the dog in a home before making the final commitment to adopt. We hope that this will mean that more dogs will go home and not have to live so long at the shelter.”

Austin Pets Alive! asks that any adopter who is interested in the trial adoption program to visit the TLAC location during open hours; 11:30am-7pm, seven days a week. If you need help finding the right adult dog for you and your home, please email email hidden; JavaScript is required.
