Yesterday afternoon, Lebowski went into a foster-to-adopt home, for a trial adoption. They have a cat and he’d been a little too into the cats at his foster home But their cat really likes dogs, so we’re going to try this out and see how he does. He’s going into a home with another chihuahua who had a similar back problem. Here’s the message we received from his foster on Friday:
Here are the latest videos of Lebowski. One is of him on a walk and the other is his carrot dance. (The man loves his carrots) Lebowski will be at SoCo all weekend, I have a feeling this might be his weekend to get adopted. Those of you who have met him know how vivacious and charming he is. He had a rough winter, but now the sun is shining and things are looking up for our little friend.
Lebowski’s road to recovery is not over yet, but he is off to a good start. It is now time for him to go to his real home. I will miss him, although I doubt that feeling is shared by our cats. Our time with Lebowski has been amazing, stressful, hilarious and challenging, but certainly well worth the effort. Lebowski is one lucky little Chihuahua. I am sure if he were able, he would thank you all. When you hear that Lebowski has been adopted, I hope you imagine him doing the carrot dance and smile. I know I will.
Thank you for helping Lebowski get to this point, we couldn’t have done it without the community. We still need to raise about $150 to cover the cost of his treatment, so that we can continue pulling pets like Lebowski from the euthanasia list.
