Dog With Serious Burn Arrives at Austin Pets Alive! For Treatment

July 19, 2016 (Austin, TX)- A dog with a serious burn arrives at Austin Pets Alive! for treatment. Wentworth, a young male dog with a severe burn on his entire back arrived at APA! today to begin treatment and recuperation.IMG_7679

“When we see an injury like this, we have to assume it was deliberate,” said Dr. Ellen Jefferson, Executive Director of APA!. “Someone poured a caustic substance on the dog or left him in the sun, causing this terrible burn.”

Wentworth will go straight to the APA! medical clinic where he will be evaluated and a treatment plan prepared. This may include antibiotics, pain medications and long-term rehabilitation including hydrotherapy.

APA! is seeking donations to help offset the costs of Wentworth’s treatment, which will be extensive, and also looking for a foster home with no other pets or small children, so that Wentworth has a quiet place to recover.
