When the A/C goes out at APA!…

It sounds horrific doesn’t it? Must have been chaos! No A/C in July in Texas with a building full of puppies, older dogs, dogs recovering from heartworms or injuries does sound like a nightmare. But of course, there’s always a silver lining to emergencies like this…

Immediately, we had volunteers bringing fans and ice to the building, our amazing foster coordinator Faith Wright sent out an e-mail and posted in APA! volunteer Facebook groups asking for anyone who could to take just one dog home for the night to please do! Faith managed to place 44 of the puppies and dogs in our shelter in foster homes for the night! Current fosters took in an extra pup for the night, volunteers in our big brothers/sisters program took home their little sibling, it’s really an amazing show of how our volunteers can mobilize when truly needed.

We just coulnd’t help but express some pride in our organization today. And a HUGE THANK YOU to Faith Wright!
