APA! Building Update – Cat Adoption Center

by Hilary Bentley • Posted in: Awareness/ PR, Fundraising

While the dogs are just beginning to settle into their building, back at the main building the cats are enjoying their new habitats! The cat adoption room has gone from some crates on a table to tall cat condos. Windows from ceiling to floor were installed for prime viewing of kitty playtime.

Cat adoptions have been going on for weeks in the new building but with the new habitats these cats will be drawing a lot more attention. And we’ll need the attention, APA! pulled 20 cats from TLAC yesterday! (More on that later).

Thanks to our wonderful volunteers and donors the room looks incredible, but it still needs some pieces. We’ve put together a list of some things we could really use to put the finishing touches on these kitties temporary homes. The quicker we get the center looking finished, the quicker these cats will find their forever homes!

-6 used base cabinets
-3 regular-sized sliding glass doors
-roofs for the cat habitats

If you have these materials or furniture to donate, contact: email hidden; JavaScript is required
If you don’t have the materials but would like to donate toward the purchase of supplies for our new building, use ChipIn! We’ve estimated that all this will cost around $1,500 to buy.

The cats say Thanks!

DEEEE-LIGHTED to see the new habitats! What a thrill!

I’d love to see some wall shelves and ramps built in to let the kitties have more high-up places and a more three-dimensional experience, which would also show them off even better to potential adopters! Just a suggestion —

Many many thanks and congratulations to everyone who has helped put this together, it’s just FANTASTIC!
