Miss Stumpy is the sweetest little lady you just might ever come across. Her dream would be to just sit near a human friend all day and be loved on. Anytime her foster mom reaches down to pet her and then stops she reaches out her paw as if to say, “Oh no, please don’t stop!!” and looks at you with her big brown eyes – so adorable! She also LOVES to be brushed – it sends her into an instant purring session!
When APA! found her, Stumpy was missing one of her back feet, we’re not sure why. She is slow to walk but gets around very well on her own. She can even go up and down stairs (with some effort) but she prefers to just hang out in one area, most often where her people are.
Stumpy also has type II diabetes. Don’t let this stop you from adopting this sweet gal! She only requires one teeny tiny injection of insulin per day. (Watch how good she is for her shot here.) Her feeding times should be regulated (2-3 times per day), and her blood sugar levels will need to be checked occasionally at your regular vet. Otherwise, she is just like a normal cat!
Giving Stumpy an insulin shot once a day in the morning (after a meal) is such an easy, small thing to do for a kitty with such a big heart! Her foster mom and APA! are happy to demonstrate and talk with anyone interested in adopting her about the procedures for managing her diabetes – giving a shot is not hard (or gross) at all! APA can also help provide post-adoption diabetes care at reduced costs if needed.
Miss Stumpy gets along well with other cats who are mellow like herself. She also loves dogs as long as they are calm and respectful.
Please consider offering Stumpy the love and attention she needs and deserves. She would love nothing more than to snuggle up next to you while you give her scratches and luvins! This girl has had a really rough life and is just looking for someone to bring her home.
