About the P.A.S.S. Program
The Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender (PASS) program provides individual consultation, education, troubleshooting, and financial support to Central Texans in need so that they have the option to care for or keep their pets rather than surrender their dogs and cats to the city and county shelters in Central Texas.
- In 2013, the PASS emergency boarding program found temporary residence for 102 animals, keeping these animals out of the shelter
- The PASS emergency boarding program has already found emergency boarding placement for more than 66 animals in 2014
- 42 kennels and veterinary clinics participate in the PASS emergency boarding program
Austin Pets Alive!’s PASS program is supported by the Banfield Charitable Trust.
