Affectionate, Sweet, Chill
Meet Flyleaf, the certified lap cat! This sweet kitty has a beautiful blonde coat that resembles that of Nala from The Lion King.
Once you get to know Flyleaf, she will proclaim you as her bestie for the resties! She will eagerly allow you to pick her up and bring her into a room with you. If she truly feels safe, Flyleaf will become the most affectionate cat! She loves pets and is ready to reach her snoot out to receive nose boops on request. She will stretch her paws out to roll over on her belly, showing off her fluffy blonde belly and her soft pink toe beans. She'll even enthusiastically have her belly rubbed -- which is a Flyleaf-exclusive perk since most cats are protective of their bellies! She likes a quick snuggle, and will take a good snooze around you, and she does love to cozy up in your lap. As another Flyleaf-exclusive perk, you will never need to choose her presence over a foot fallen asleep since she will stay in your lap even if you need to adjust your position! Flyleaf sleeps next to her foster at night and enjoys being the little spoon.
In spite of her calm temperament, Flyleaf is prompt to fulfill her daily physical activity quota. Around 9 pm, her innate hunting urges will turn on, and the cuteness overload begins! She will dribble around a small ball, sliding across the floor to pounce it like a pro soccer player. She will hunt larger items as well, her favorites including a giant ball of yarn and stuffed animals. She is great at entertaining herself and is mostly a very chill girl!
Flyleaf doesn't mind spending time alone. She's actually at her cutest when she's napping (since she doesn't have teeth her tongue derps out pretty easily!) She does well with cats and children who share her laid-back nature. If you're willing to give this loving kitty a few weeks of patience, she may just climb into your lap and become your new best furry friend!
Flyleaf has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Flyleaf can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.
Flyleaf also has some oral pain that we are working on a pain management plan for, and a heart murmur that is being monitored. Check back here for the latest on her medical needs.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
