BeccaLeah Bestof-Seagil really had to pull some strings to be given such an elaborate name. In her case, and not surprisingly, they were heartstrings...pulled right and left when she arrived at the shelter. So much so, that multiple staff members wanted to name her. As a result, she ended up with several names within a name!

When we first met Becca her pelvis and tail were fractured and she had a tail-pull injury that separated her spine from her tail. As if that wasn't all bad enough, she gave birth to two kittens in this condition. It's no wonder she is leery of the world and is distrustful of people. She has never experienced a consistent routine with a loving human, and living in pain for the last several months has not done much for her spirits. We don't blame her for feeling low and a bit cranky!

But, Becca is a youngster, she turned one not long ago, and her story is just beginning. A full life awaits her - one that has every reason to be filled with happiness, security, lazy days in warm sunbeams and tons of love. She just needs a patient person who will give her the time she needs to build confidence and to realize it's not only okay to trust and love, it is life changing!

We have discovered many things about beautiful Becca during her APA! stay. For one, she is a huge foodie! She loves eating and gobbles down cheese, Churus and dry treats. We have also seen a hint of her sweet, loving personality. She has gently eaten cheese spray off of a staff member's finger and is willing to accept treats from an outstretched hand. She has allowed nose and chin scratches and bumped a staff member's hand. Oops, that was a little too scary and she ran away! But, the desire to be social and affectionate is there and she continues to progress. If you get down low where she is and speak to her softly she becomes more at ease. Did we mention the snacks? Always come bearing yumminess!

Becca is in a group room and enjoys snuggling with her kitty roomies. She is one sharp kitty, always figuring out the routines of staff members and outsmarting them at every turn!

Due to her injuries, Becca is incontinent and needs to be manually expressed (given a gentle side squeeze) twice daily because she is unable to urinate on her own. APA! will show you how this is done and will share with you encouraging stories of the many incontinent cats who are living their best lives in forever homes.

Becca has a gorgeous coat with every calico color imaginable and pretty white mittens. Her beautiful eyes look uncertain, but also have an unmistakable glimmer of hope. We have more than a glimmer, we know this lovely cat can thrive and lead a wonderful life with help from a cat-savvy person who believes in her and who will give her the time she needs to have the happy ending she deserves. Are you interested in being that person...her hero, her guide and the most trusted friend she will ever know and love? If so, please contact us to meet this special girl!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
