Evanescence is an animated, funny, and handsome guy! At the shelter he makes us laugh with his antics - climbing the cat shelves and darting around like he's on a mission! He loves to explore his room, sniffing around to see what's new that day. When he gets the zoomies out of his system, he'll relax with you and lean into pets.

If you bring treats, you'll have Evan's full attention! Food is this kitty's Love Language. He enjoys any and all treats, and will march right up to you if you've got them! This is very brave if you consider his history.

Late last year, someone shot Evanescence and left him to die on the side of the road. Neighbors noticed, and told each other about him, but no one came back to help. He spent most of the day in the gravel, hanging on.

It took the action of just one person to rescue Evan and give him a chance at life. She brought him to APA!, and Evan miraculously survived under the care of our incredible medical team.

As Evan healed, they discovered that the bullet in his tail had taken his ability to walk. Now, a few months later, he has also literally took steps forward, as he's relearning!

Evanescence works hard every day to put his best paw forward and enjoy himself. Evan is determined to get on with his life!
