Friendly, Chirpy, Snuggly

Smoke on the Water will bring a twinkle to your eye! He loves snuggling, cuddling, and being picked up for some snuggling and cuddling. He thinks cheek scratches are *the best*, and will headbutt your hand to say "thank you, I love you, more please." And when Smoke wants to tell the world how happy he is, he chirps!

In the shelter Smoke has snuggled with kittens, coexisted with senior cats, and has had a lot of fun playing with other playful cats, scooting around the room to chase them! He likes his own space, too, and once his social battery is spent, he will hang out by himself to recharge. Being socially "on" can be draining, we get it, Smoke! He does a great job of getting along with everyone in the shelter AND taking care of himself.

Smoke has what we call "breadstick legs"; he was found on the Ladybird Lake trail after some type of trauma, which paralyzed his back legs, making them stick out like little breadsticks. The injury also gave him incontinence, which means we help him pee ("manually express" his bladder) a few times a day. It's simpler than you think, and takes less time than a coffee break! Smoke is easy to express, and will make biscuits while you express him to show how appreciative he is. The connection you form with him will be special and unbreakable.

Expressing an incontinent cat can be a breeze with our support! Check out this video: bit.ly/CatExpressionDemo

Smoke is a fan of wand toys, crinkle balls, and tracker toys. When you bring out a stick of Churu you wouldn't know he is paralyzed, he scoot-zooms right up to you for his favorite treat! Then, he's ready for a nice loungy nap in the sun.

He has a calm, sweet, and affectionate nature! He will show his boundless love and resilient spirit, and amaze your with his optimism and ability to adapt! Don't call him special needs, Smoke thinks he's just super special. And we agree! Contact us today to learn more and to meet him!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
