Have you ever looked at the crumbs on the floor after your Thanksgiving feast and wished you had a four-legged friend to clean them up? Have you ever laid down for the post-meal nap and football watching and wished a kittie or pup would crawl into your lap and watch the Longhorns beat the Aggies with you? Or, have you ever been seated around the table and just felt like you were missing someone even though everyone in your entire extended family was there?
There is a dog or cat in our program who is dreaming of cleaning up the crumbs on the kitchen floor, cuddling into your lap, and just hanging around the dinner table while its' family gathers together (Nothing makes my dog happier than having everyone in one room).
On this day that is all about family, we can't think of a better way to honor the tradition of getting together and giving thanks. Bring a pet home and you will save another pet from the euthanasia list at TLAC. That translates into several reasons to give thanks: one for the comfort and happiness your new pet will have, another for the second chance you give to another, and finally for the joy your new pet will bring to your home and family.
We're glad to say that when you start to get that feeling that something is missing from your Thanksgiving, our adoption counselors will be there to help.
Our Adoption & Resource Center at 2807 Manchaca Rd. will be open for adoptions from 10 A.M to 3 P.M. on Thanksgiving Day.
In addition to adoptions, we will also be open to volunteers all day for playing with the kitties and walking the dogs. Come spend some time with these pets who are without a family to call their own.
Pets in the photos are Charity and Yumi, both available for adoption!
