It's been several months since we last posted on our miracle girl and the good news is that Bonnie has officially become a member of our pack - we couldn't part with her after fostering her for so long, so have officially adopted her! She is healthy and happy and it appears the pythiosis has been kept at bay, at least for the time being. She has had three ultrasounds that have shown very little thickness in her intestines, which we're taking to be good news. However, we're still waiting to hear back on blood tests that she is free and clear of the disease. We are continuing her Itraconazole and Terbinafine treatments every day since they seem to be working so well and her weight has leveled off at around 60 lbs - almost double her weight since we rescued her!
Bonnie is also playing well with our two other dogs and is slowly learning to trust other animals as well. We attended a doggie socialization class today and while she was a bit wary of some of the other dogs, she's learning to meet and greet appropriately and will hopefully soon a be a model of good canine behavior! Thanks again for everyone's good thoughts, wishes and prayers, this is one sweet pup with a wonderfully happy ending!
