Everything else about him really starts with that fact. He's a good dog and he deserves a chance.
He's hoping for a home where belly rubs, play time, outdoor adventures, and continued training sound like the bees' knees to his adopter! You see, Brodie was adopted as a puppy by a family that loved him and had planned to keep him for the rest of his life. Unfortunately, they didn't socialize or train him.
For some dogs, that might have still worked out. They could have hung around the house as loved family pets and not asked much more than a couch and the occasional rawhide. But Brodie is a smart, high energy catahoula/pittie mix. Two highly intelligent breeds who need a positive way to channel all that energy and drive.
Brodie is getting that positive outlet now, thanks to his amazing foster home. He has a structured daily routine, plenty of fun bike rides and walks, a wonderful canine role model named Maddie, and the opportunities for training and socialization he missed as a puppy.
There's also a wonderful, loving, goofy side to this boy that his adopter will get to enjoy in spades.
His foster, Frank, put together a special video about his progress that Brodie would be proud to share with you:

Frank would also like you to know that, "It's been a real pleasure having Brodie around. He's a quick learner and eager to please. My dog, Maddie, and I will miss him a lot when he's adopted."
Brodie has touched a lot of people at APA!. We have high hopes for this affectionate, playful, ever inquisitive dog. We know his person is out there. Someone who loves a dog that brings complexity and heart to a relationship that will always be a journey.
Brodie loves working with his human companion and thrives on a continued training plan. It gives him something to do with all of those smarts! To help ensure this special dog truly gets to reach his potential, Brodie will come with a $250 training scholarship from Buddy's Fund.
Brodie is looking toward the future where he'll have his very own home and a person he can spend a life time learning with. He still has a few things to learn, but he also has a lot to teach. He's just waiting for the right person to come along and give him a chance.
