A loud WHOO HOO!!! could be heard echoing through the hill country recently as Jude successfully completed his training course at the Lee Mannix Center for Canine Behavior.
For those of you who don’t know, the Lee Mannix Center for Canine Behavior is situated in the hill country in southwest Austin. All training is outside in a tree-filled setting. And, in between training exercises the dogs must take a two minute walk with the opportunity to splash around in baby pools filled with water. And boy does Jude love to splash in the baby pools. (If his new forever family has a pool or a lake, Jude will be in heaven.)
Under the direction of trainer Chris Schaible, Jude worked on his sit stays and down stays, meets and greets, long distance recall, maze walking, and much more. Along the way he got to treat on cheese, grilled chicken, ground turkey balls, and bacon soaked treats. He of course loved them all and is very food motivated!
Jude continues his progress of becoming perfect gentlemen. In between training exercises, Jude loves to take long walks and retrieve tennis balls. And lately, he has been in long distance training running along side a member of the UT women’s track team.
Jude is now 11 months old and is looking for his forever family. He is still a little scared of kids so he should probably be in an adult family who can give him plenty of exercise daily. Jude had such a good time at Lee Mannix, that he now wants to enroll in another class with Lee or Sheri. After completing the next training course, Jude said he will be ready to enroll in medical school at the Baylor College of Medicine. Jude knows he is very smart and lacks no ambition.
Jude plays well with other dogs and is house broken and crate trained. Since he is in foster, he may not be at the adoption site every day, so please email [email protected] to schedule a time to meet the playful Jude.
