This is Lady, not feeling well, right before she was taken to the Heart of Texas veterinary specialty center today for pneumonia from smoke inhalation. She's joining her sister, Lilly, who was rushed there yesterday and is still very sick with pneumonia and burns.
We met them at the vet clinic we had set up in Bastrop. Their mom had lost everything in the fires and could not afford treatment for them, but was desperate to save them. Unfortunately, their injuries are more severe than what our clinic can provide.
Even with generous discounts, the bills have already added up significantly. We are hoping to raise $2,500 to pay for their continued treatment.
Lady, the younger of the two, is faring better than her older sister, Lilly, who is having a very tough time.
We hope you will join us in donating to their medical costs so that we can keep this family together and sending good thoughts for Lilly.
Update: Both girls are doing better, but both are still pretty sick. The bulk of the expensive part of the treatment has ended, though, and have left a $6,000 bill, even with a nice discount from the vet clinic.
