APA! was asked if we could help this poor little angel. Of course we said YES!!! But now we need your help. The person who he is currently living with can't keep him any longer. He needs to recover in nice, safe environment with someone who can take care of him as he continues to recover. Can that person be you?
Please email us at [email protected] if you are interested. Please consider a donation to help cover the medical costs incurred by him and other animals in our care. Thanks!
"This little creature showed up on my friend's back porch last week and she took him for dead at first sight. He was so skinny, and covered in bugs and infection that she was afraid to even go near him. He spent four days at the emergency vet clinic where they said he was the worst case of animal neglect they had ever seen and actually were insisting he be put down. However, he kept eating and seemed to have a will to live so we started him on treatment.
He has shown himself to be very resilient. After a week he is active like any normal puppy, wagging his tail and giving kisses, eager for attention and affection, and with a huge appetite. Did I mention he is a genius and a lover of love? He is so sweet and well-tempered. Also he gets along well with my pit bull, who is four.
He still looks like a troll, with full body (non-contagious) mange, but we are confident he will make a full recovery. He needs regular baths until his fur grows back and is on antibiotics for his skin. Otherwise, he is just like a normal pup!We think he is part golden retriever/part "little dog". The doctor thinks he might be five or six months old, although his growth could be stunted from not eating for so long.
He is the miracle pup! I'm sure he will make an amazing companion to anyone who decides to take him. "
