Update: Buttercup will likely not need surgery after all. The funds raised will go to the many other dogs in our program that need medical attention though! In addition, Buttercup has already been adopted! And even better news that the adopters also adopted an APA! favorite, Ginger, a couple months ago. They're getting along great and Buttercup seems to be feeling better everyday.
We were given 1 1/2 hours notice yesterday to get this little Buttercup out of TLAC. She has a herniated disc in her spine that needs to be surgically removed.
Buttercup was running around in this condition when found by a good samaritan and she kept her for 1.5 weeks before taking her to the shelter. Her big eyes look at you pleadingly asking for help. She whines wanting to be picked up to snuggle with you. She can sit up but drags her bottom to get around.
Please donate toward funding her surgery so we can help her and continue to help dogs and cats with medical and surgical needs. From having similar surgeries done before we're estimating it will cost about $1800 for surgery and treatment. Visit http://apa.chipin.com/buttercup to donate!

We are also looking for a foster for sweet Buttercup. She is likely incontinent due to the paralysis and will need to be kept clean until her surgery. She is small so maybe some diapers will work. We had to get her out of TLAC tonight so she is spending the night in our clinic but we do need to get her into a foster as soon as possible, preferably one who can help care for Buttercup before and after her surgery and will be able to make frequent visits to the vet.
