Ever wanted to be in a flash mob? For the first time ever, APA! had a dog cuddling flash mob on this past Saturday, December 10, and over 67 people signed up to sit in a pen with one of our shelter dogs!
With participants called "pen pals," the goal of the Pen Pal Flash Mob was to give our dogs some extra love in their temporary homes. Both canines and humans enjoyed the event, which included snuggling dogs, laying on brand new beds and blankets they bought, decorating pens, playing with the dogs, posting special signs and dressing dogs up in sweaters to brave the cold front.
The majority of the volunteers from Saturday's event are a part of APA!'s Big Brother/Sister program, a program that allows volunteers act as big siblings for dogs who are waiting for a real home.
For more information on how to get involved and make sure you're on the list to participate in the next flash mob (date TBD), email [email protected] or [email protected].
